Neck Wrinkles- Causes and Preventation

Most people think of overcoming face wrinkles, but often neglect neck wrinkles. Therefore, there is a great need to take care of it. This article highlights on the cause and preventive measures for wrinkles that occur on the neck.

Causes

As people grow older fat tends to distribute throughout the body. One place where fat content is very less is neck. The number of sebaceous glands present in the neck region are also very less. Due to less fats in the neck region there is a lack of support to it. Hence, older people have sagging bands and this condition is often called as turkey neck.

Prevention

  • Apply sunscreen daily. Generally the suns rays cause damage to the skin and progresses to form wrinkles. Reapply it, if you are outside for a longer period of time.
  • One should keep the skin hydrated. Mostly parched skin are prone to wrinkles. So, regular application of a moisturizer can be of help. Neck region needs a rich moisturizer than that for the face.
  • Regular application of anti wrinkle cream every night is suggested. Application of these creams helps the skin to look younger and less wrinkled.
  • Microdermabrasion treatments can be carried out. This form of treatment helps in the removal of dead skin cells and helps the skin to look radiant.
  • Drink plenty of water. Drinking water helps to rejuvenate the skin and makes it look fresh.
  • A balanced diet is an important prerequisite. Include fresh foods in the diet. Try to avoid processed foods. Fresh food serves as a richest source of important vitamins C, A, K and E that are vital for a healthy skin.

Other Preventive Measures

  • Constantly looking down at books or computer screens for a longer period of time provokes neck wrinkles. So, make sure that computer screen is upto the eye level and use a book stand while reading.
  • Remember the head position throughout the day. Avoid looking down for a long period of time.
  • One should avoid using high pillows while sleeping. Use a two to four inch cushion as it will enhance breathing, lengthens neck and inhibits the formation of wrinkles.
