Sagging Neck Skin

Due to age, sagging neck skin is a normal problem. As the neck is not an area which gets a good deal of attention from cosmetologists. It can be quite a problem for few people. Neck skin can get a sag due to many factors. Some people think sagging of neck skin due to stretching of skin, which is true in some regards. The neck and face muscles are responsible for lifting and supporting the neck skin properly. Hence, when body gets weakened, the muscles of face and neck causes neck sagging skin.

Neck sagging skin causes ruined look for some people. There are various ways to reduce its appearance, which are discussed in this article, but remember no method is going to work instantly.

Methods to get Rid of Sagging Neck Skin

Some methods to reduce neck sagging skin are as follows:

  • Diet

    – Neck sagging is sometimes referred to as turkey neck because the neck muscles get loose due to aging and it appears as the neck of a turkey bird. A proper diet and lots of water will help reduce the appearance of turkey neck. Foods should be rich in omega 3 essential fatty acids. Olives and avocado are also beneficial. These fruits help increase the elasticity of the neck. Some neck exercises can also be done to help minimize the problem.

  • Lip Pout Exercise

    – Stretch your lower lip in such a manner that you feel stretching your neck skin. Then place your finger on the collar bone and pull it down. Remain in this position for 5 seconds and then release the position. Repeat this exercise for 10 times. It will cause neck skin stretching and toning. It also helps flexing the neck muscles and bring it into action.

  • Chewing Exercise

    – Sit down and look up at the ceiling, chin should be pointed to a 90 degree angle. Mouth should be closed, but not tightly. Begin chewing action and continue till you chew 20 times. Again do the same process for minimum 3 times a day.

  • Chin jut Exercise

    – Stand in front of the mirror and take your chin as far as you can. It will cause stretching of neck skin. Try to look as high as possible when your chin is in a far away position. Remain in this position for about 15 seconds and then come back to normal position. It is the best exercise for preventing neck sagging skin. Repeat this exercise at least 3 times a day.
