As time passes by and the body ages, the skin begins to lose its flexibility and luster. This is very prevalent from the lines that begin to appear on the face and body. The severity of the changes that the skin undergoes depends on the genes, skin type and exposure to various environmental factors.
Facial lines and wrinkles are usually asymmetrical developments on the face. This is due to the fact that people smile or frown more on one side than the other. Another factor that constitutes to these asymmetrical lines is, when a person is in the continuous habit of sleeping on either the right or the left cheek.
Factors that give rise to forehead wrinkles:
The main cause of wrinkling is the fact that the innermost layer of the skin, that is, the epidermis begins to lose its capacity to withhold moisture and due to the irregular thickening of the middle layer, that is, the dermis. This is largely caused due to the ultra violet radiations from the sun’s rays and also due to frequent exposure with environmental toxins like tobacco.
Forehead lines are considered to be deeper lines. Also known as furrows, these lines can be further classified into dynamic or static. Static lines remain unchanged with any muscle movement, whereas dynamic lines are caused due to regular activity of the facial muscles. Dynamic lines eventually become static.
Forehead wrinkles are also known as the worry lines, which appear due to contraction of the frontalis muscle when the eyebrows are raised. This condition is also known as, the Brow Ptosis, where the forehead sags and the eyebrows fall over the eyelids, to make the eyes feel tired and heavy.
